My tuner says, tuning the stock ecu takes few hours changing the existing fuel and ignition maps, when tuning a Motec takes forever and all your money, starting from scratch. My goal was to be the fastest in Elvington speed event using a stock ecu, and i dont know but if anyone checked how it was few years back, i think all the other in top five (?) were using some kind of standalone ecu, Motec, Syvecs or other.
