  1. wasn't that a H@#%a advert
  2. Today i test rode the Gen3 silver one.. not as nice looking as Black and Orange. Roddy I left the Suzuki sales man cogitating what mine was worth with 100k on clock , he liked my wheels brembos - but i'll tell you now offered me £1500 as trade in annoying he would let me take my magnetic tank bag which had my datalogger , so bum dyno it is up the A19 .. According to suzuki york all settijngs were to 1 full power and lesast intrusion for launch traction etc.. Initial ride smooth and being new all quite tight , but the suspension felt soft with no bumps being felt. mine Gen2 is noticeably stiffer. the fly by wire throttle whilst still has cables but is much easier to turn and appears to have less rotation to full throttle than mine - could be just less resistance to roll on. pulling away in any gear low down - it does have more grunt than mine as expected so - when winding on the bike does accelerate well to any body not used to riding a busa ... the bike will seem really fast from any given revs and any gear. ( cam retarded to give more low end / mid range) i did like the positive Neutral . with 430 miles on the Gen3 i did wring its neck numerous times over the 30 miles in 2nd and 3rd gear rolls on to red line. after a while i became almost used to the rush of acceleration. the quick shifter was flawless up and down i think cut fuel and ignition - which seemed to make the bike surge after next gear engagement. running through 1st to 4th hard it was noticeable QS good but a little laggy than my old it seemed slower to shift than my old HM Shifter which was set to 55 msec including improved star wheel , mine only cut ignition and seemed to run through the gears with less interruption - so aftermarket up shift is better. i'm not sure if GEN3 had the quickest setting or a default setting to save gearbox but riding mine since modded and adding wheels. when revving out in 2nd and 3rd the acceleration is harder through the redline to 12,000 you have to remember this bike has done 100,000 miles and still races hard to cut out since JW de-restricted a testament to engine durability in 2nd gear if i cracked the throttle as fast as i could it would lift the front so i need to feather throttle ever so slightly - on Gen3 i could just wind on faster seemed more linear power without worry of wheel lift mine definitely more peaky and feels i have to give a little more respect. Conclusion: would i buy one. if i was a newbie rider to the busa fold and came from say a VFR or similar - yes the bike will seem a big improvement and the big thing for most riders it feels really safe as almost i could take liberties but for me i was expecting something more - why would i expect that when EURO 5 has its mitts all over it. the big seems really safe its fast but also neutered at the same time i want something to scare the shit out of me and have to treat with some respect - so for me i'm glad going down the Big motor route - ill have more low end mid range with 10 hp more at top end - i want to be scared that the bike could kill me. Gen3 does not do it for me and i can see me being bored with it - i seemed to have moved on. today was also the 1st real day of the year i got my Riding mojo back as over last 3 months riding i felt slow and not in unison with my back. looking forward to other reviews . oh i have to go back to Suzuki york on tuesday as i did collect my driving licence - i forgot must have been the excitement
  3. Oh yes Mineral oil
  4. i agree ... but for most mortals that may take GEN3 to 200 hp from 1340cc and be happy
  5. yes but you could tweak that
  6. might be better with improved cylinder head swirl and lighter engine components
  7. when this sinks in Gen1 owners will be part ex-ing in droves
  8. f the new wheel is replaced with a better-flowing Akrapovic full piping and possibly a better-flowing air filter, then the mixture should be much better in place even without adjustment. It is expected that the power increase will be significant. In addition, Akrapovic has this time chosen a clearly larger primary pipe for the entire bus system in Busan than in previous models. In the piping of the previous model, the small diameter of the initial curve was the reason why not all the horsepower contained in the engine could be released on the Akrapovic piping. Thus, at this stage, it appears that the engine of the new Hayabusa is more efficient as standard than the previous model, and in addition, a significant increase in power is expected with the replacement of the piping and possible adjustment of the mixtures.
  9. secondary injectors hit that fixed baffle plate to bounce spray down there were some pics in GEN3 posts
  10. what secondary butterflies ... got that deflector plate
  11. it will have better aeros
  12. rich to keep engine cool
  13. looks unlikely to hit 200 mph as runs out of puff but will be good on the real road conditions
  14. it will have a new nickname DD3 to LD3
  15. aghh right - so it does make power....could make the magical 200 hp given full exhaust decat and ecu editor and 155 nm = 114 lbft
  16. hang on let me understand this so its making 190 hp at the engine - and the Gen2 made 197 at the engine according to specification Suzuki claim 190 hp at the engine which is what they said is down 7hp waits for dyno experts to explain and why it may make power
  17. no one wants glazed bores Motoman technique from USA forum What is dino oil ? My new bike when I get it will be driven in 1st gear halfway home. I use the Motoman break-in procedure and have consistently fast bikes. Stock faster than decked out bikes with 4 in1, pc5 all of them. 3-6k 3 times, upshift, let cool for 5 minutes while riding. Same as before except 6-9k 3 times, cool, 9- redline 3 times. The bike is 80% broke in. After, drive it like it's broke in, no babying this bike. I use regular dino oil for a least 3 more changes, then switch to pure synthetic.
  18. good stuff quite long stacks and the cross sectional area of that Air filter is way larger than GEN1/2 so 190 engine power = not at the wheels , just checking no confusion. so is it fair to factor in 9% loss for at the wheel 173 so it makes what Suzuki claim which is 190 hp at engine
  19. According to guy in tight leathers best features were new revalved suspension and updated Brembos
  20. reminds of that Marvin the sad robot - hitch hikers guide
