  1. My Gen 2 at the Ring, probably returning 12KMPL, exceptional circumstances though ay (Normally about 17.9KMPL)
  2. OK so fuel mileage is a bit of a thing for me not least of all because I dislike having to stop for fuel too often. So looking at the specs above it states that the KMPL is 17.8, if you do the maths that equates to 42 MPG US (3.78 litres) and 50.5 MPG Imperial (4.54 litres) now if this is true it would be around 222 miles Full to empty so erring on the safe side you would be looking at 180 to 200 miles between fill ups, now that would make more sense and works for me. (Does this sound a bit obsessive ) Would be good to get some clarification on this ay Better start saving up then, could be some pre reg bargains about in a year or two. Rigsey
  3. I'm with Mamattt, wasn't sure at first but now really like the styling and could live with the pointless electronics and shift in power but 42 mpg whats that all about and is it going to turn into high 30's in the real world. Suzuki say more efficient but it uses more fuel with minimal gains, don't get it Rigsey
  4. Ok so I get the whole midrange power thing but I don't get how a more efficient engine uses more fuel to produce less overall power and torque. The more I look at it the more I like the styling though. As for the electronics package I get lean angle ABS, I get lean angle TC and maybe even selectable engine braking but don't get hill hold and linked braking and WTF is Slope Decent Controls all about thats something I expect to see on a Land Rover Discovery not on a hyper-sports bike ay. Last thing I want is to be braking hard down into Kallenhard or Wehrseifen on a hot lap of the Nordschleife and have the bike decide the rear end is lifting too much and start messing with the brake pressures, sounds like a quick way to become part of the armco to me. Maybe I am doing it all a disservice, will have to have a test ride and find out, bet they won't let me take it to the ring though. So for now I think will be sticking with the GSXR 1000. Lets see what exhausts and remapping brings to the party Cheers Rigsey
  5. The guy in the video has just got to be on commission from Suzuki ay. And has a vested interest in charging people large amounts of cash to turn it into the bike it should have been out of the box.
  6. Thanks guys, Like the new look though shame the mechanics don't back it up looking forward to a test ride
  7. Hi all, Just signed up on here today to see what you all think of the Gen 3 as I have been waiting in anticip.......ation for this one, got up early to watch it live, the new bonkers Hayabusa gen 3 then......oh is that it. I had an L5 Gen 2 for 3 years and 16000 miles but chopped it in for an L8 GSXR 1000 as I do closed circuit days at the Nordschleife and had found the limits of the Busa from a ground clearance and weigh perspective so the new GSXR seemed like the way to go but I do miss the sheer grunt of the Gen 2 and was considering returning to the fold. I was hoping for 200 BHP and a significant weight saving instead they give us less power, a mere 2kg weight saving, a shed load of electronics we will never use and poorer economy. Considering they did such a good job on the GSXR, 199 BHP and 203 KG, returns 50 mpg on the road (Track time is a different story) how could they get this so wrong. Having said that I still want to ride one to see what its like but feel that there will be a lot of ex demos hanging about at the end of the year. Yours disappointedly Rigsey
