Did it not seem to be struggling to accelerate in 4th & 5th then?  Maybe just because he's a big lad?

supposed to have better aeros than GEN1/GEN2 needs less power to get to 186mph

in the same way i read in year 2000 ZX12R was the most powerful Hyperbike but GEN1 was still the fastest with less power :coffeebreak:

I guess this is eactly why we now have sensors that measure all sorts, because we like talking about it and comparing riding styles etc. Also it does allow us to prove whether the chicken strips are because you're a chicken or if indeed that particular tyre profile you claim cannot be used to the edge :coffeebreak:. I guess launch control is going to be rarely used, but possibly useful at elvington :turbobusa:

Alistair fagan says he was quicker off the mark WITHOUT Launch control

    Wished i hadn't bothered Mark

£3 - £3.5k  I wondered first whether to either, sell privately or break it for spares, then i thought i'd offer the vulcan S as that's "as new" to see where he was at

BUT he only offered the same..... for a bike that's mint with only 1000 miles on it   They currently sell for £5k minimum

blimey 2 part-ex bikes and another £10k+ :beat:

    £2k for mine then

their best customers are those that pay 6% APR , they hate cash buyers

What if there's an updraft and you're wearing 1970's flares?

I'd have thought that 0-60 on a bike is more about the rider's abilities than the bike.  Maybe 80-140 would be a better comparison?

i agree my 0-60s are shite

better 60-130 that is what high powered Porsche cars use, see this thread

    https://www.6speedonline.com/forums/997-turbo-gt2/224457-can-modded-porsche-really-beat-hayabusa-4.html

"We got verfied vbox ran by Scott

Michael Mathews GSXR 1000 with bolt ons and,-1 on the countershaft at the time 4.58 from 60-130

Also i found that a 324rwhp turbo busa ran 60-130 in 2.8s!!!!! but that ran was on pocket computer w/GPS"

Where was the talk about 0-60mph times, was it 2.7s ?

Friend reminded me today that back in 1997 the Scandinavian Bike magazine measured RF900 acceleration 0-100kmh in 2.5s

    2.69 secs

Old cycle world USA road tests put the Gen1 at 2.47 secs

interestingly if you want to do 0-60 in 2.73 secs for FREE jump off a high building :zipped:

Yes, what was the chart about ?

gear ratioS GEN2 same as GEN3

it proves Suzuki did a good job with out of the box performance wise, most owners would find it faster than a Gen1 and 2 out of the showroom in normal road riding.

No extra teeth on the rear sprocket

    So

    ?

    Bhm

it means it has similar gearing to Euro4 ZZR so both are equally as quick with similar gearing

    Ian

Take your pick DD3 or  ZZR1400 both are equally as quick

DD3 is quicker off the mark low down as mine, i had better go a gear higher

waits to fill in the gaps

    from gearing commander.com REVS

stock  40 MPH  -120 mph in top   AS MENTIONED IN CHART

    Gen1            2,152     -      6,456

    Gen2            2,185      -     6,555

    ZZR Gen1     2,135      -     6,404

    ZZR Gen2     2,187      -     6,560

    H2 SX           2,599     -     7,796

    MY Gen2     2,134       -      6,403

    DD3                 2,185       -      6,555

So with the same Gen2 gearing the bottom end and mid range is much improved

lit will take 1406cc to overhaul a DD3 low down :zipped:

  9. that is the worst Gen2 colour

"Look at the picture of gen2 and gen 3 side by side. I noticed where the heat came out from the hole next to our knee or close to it, it looks like on gen3, that vent is at foot level where the heat will exhaust much lower near the engine cover. All right Suzuki!! Tank is lower too, allowing a lower tuck. The windshield on gen3 seems to sweep down lower going good with the lower tuck. Also looks like the lean scratchers on foot pegs may be longer. I guess if they make noise in lean, better not go any farther perhaps. Also, may not need a tank knee pad as the black plastic is there where on gen2 there is a painted tank. Somebody has been thinking here!! The signal light on gen3 is now integrated into mirrors as in gen2 a teardrop case on both front and back, which would be a source of wind drag or turbulence. The grab handle on gen3 is lower in height. Fairing on gen3 appears to be swept back from right below hand grips all the way to the bottom and much more smooth and flowing showing extensive wind tunnel work!! Instead of several geo angles going in all directions. Maybe the pic, but the seat gen3 seems a little longer."
