Gen3 camshaft specifications

Thanks Bazz

So, if the cam base diameter is 28mm, as before

is the intake lift  8.6mm  and  exhaust  8.85mm ?

Quite interesting specs, but as said before, it may be done for the 3 cats blocking the exhaust,

so, how does it perform when taking the cats out, should it need to be changed to traditional camshaft setup, intake being bigger,

now there is no cam duration shown, it changes the thinking.

Smallest throttle bodies in history of Hayabusa

(gen2 may lose on quarter mile but just wait for the mile speeds)

Has anyone bothered to think this is majorly upgradable ?

Still waiting for the ECU unlock

pointless to think about mods without the unlocking

Sometimes they design something in such a way that it can be easily mod'ed or upgraded. So this may have been done with this in mind, then deliberately 'soft tuned' to keep it less objectional to the PC brigade. I mean all of the previous busa engines have been like this, and perhaps this one is much more so ?

Yes , not only Suzuki do this either.

And yes, only time will tell - equally it could be a total bag o shite too

:)

I see it like this,

the different type camshafts may be explained in many ways,

cylinder head is bit different, not so much when you can use gen2 exhaust on gen3,

engine capacity is the same,

throttle bodies are smaller,

all these added together i cant see there would be significant difference to gen2 engine, few hp`s what we have seen in dyno results,

if you can do modification and get 20hp more, so it should be also possible on gen2 engine
