the stock gen2 14's are as rich as that on full throttle and I think it is to cool the charge for the cats

and back pressure to stop detonation within the engine. (there are 4 cats in the later gen 2 kwakkers) 

personally once the exhausts are off and it breathes better it will equate to the gen 2 but that is a big tail 

off and I suspect the secondary butterflies will also close at the top end to restrict the flow into the engine .

it is after all emissions based and the exhaust will only flow so much 

to get it to perform correctly the silencers would need to be twice the size. not practical really

secondary injectors hit that fixed baffle plate to bounce spray down

there were some pics in GEN3 posts
