  1. Range is calculated using what it thinks is in the tank and current consumption. The first thing still relies on a mechanical float in the tank - so 19th century. Secondly if you were riding normally and now ride like a granny the rate of cosumption will be less so range calculation could well increase.
  2. "Like me, I think most others are the same. As long as the bills are paid and there is food on the table and a couple of pounds left to spend we are happy-ish." And so many in that position still keep complacently voting for the bloody Conservatives
  3. Handling difference may be down to comparing new suspension and linkages with worn stuff on the gen2 and/or tyre profile and pressures
  4. Our Morrisons has a gorgeous till operator who always smiles and gives me a semi so that's where we shop Unfortunately their fuel station staff don't have the same effect but I can suffer that if it means they don't "borrow" my money
  5. First Omicron death in this country recorded yesterday.....or was that more misinformation and obfuscation by the Venusians?
  6. Is there a child in this country that doesn't have a special need these days? I know of one diagnosed with some attention disorder thingummy and her drink dependant parents get loads of money and attention heaped on the family because of their so called poorly daughter. When she's dumped on the grandparents there's nothing wrong with her and her behaviour is perfectly normal. Maybe there are some genuine cases but I'm just citing one example of "a certain section" of society jumping on a bandwagon. And they didn't come over here in a flimsy rubber dinghy....
  7. I've followed this discussion all the way, carefully reading each post on my PC. I understand why you've stopped fighting the tide John.
  8. "no it’s not going so let’s crack on" I hope that doesn't mean to crack on as if nothing is happening cos' "I'm all right Jack" and if other people suffer then that's tough. When a little bit of care and consideration in what we do might just lessen that suffering of others.
  9. Just a minute. If you're vaccinated you're less likely to get Covid. If you're vaccinated and you are unlucky to be one of the few vaccinated people to end up with Covid you are less likely to suffer the Covid virus replicating massively in your body. With less virus in your system you are less likely to transmit the virus to others. So by waiving your "right" and your "freedom" to not be vaccinated you are exercising your "public duty" to protect others. That's called being a nice unselfish person.
  10. "... and we will own feck all" You'll still think you own your free will
  11. Bloke on the gen3 is a pro drag racer bloke on gen2 is a circuit racer.
  12. Haselmere must be that hidden suburb of Exeter I don't know
  13. Had my test ride at Bridge in Exeter yesterday. All the electronic nonsense minimised I gave it a damn good thrashing for an hour. It definitely is still a Hayabusa with that immense grunt from low down the rev' range unlike the "all at the top end" litre bikes. Has more low/mid range than the Gen2 but not by a huge amount. Still need to ping the clutch for 3rd gear wheelies. Riding the twisties of the old A30 (not the dual cabbageway) to Okehampton it went round the bends just fine. I did feel the turn in a bit quicker than my Gen2 but that could be simply down to new tyres. Suspension is a lot softer with loads of sag but coped well with rough and smooth roads, plush and efficient. You Gen 1 owners are right that the Gen2 was sanitised and lost some of the rawness of the original, well this is more so. Stupidly fast but stupidly civilised with it. I've said before, and the test ride confirms it; IF I had the money the changes would not persuade me to buy one. Whether Suzuki did right after all in being "practical" and broadly keeping to the established Hayabusa ethos or they should have given us what we dreamed of is debatable. Me, I'm keeping my old Gen2 and scraping the funds for an engine and chassis upgrade. Plan £5k for a much better bike than a trade in and another £10k for a new 'un.
  14. As Suzuki can't do a link that is usable they are deterring a lot of potential customers. And if the gen3 is going to be the same tired old formula with Euro4/5/6? compliance gubbins and stupid "up to date" electronics bollox that I certainly don't want It's a no thanks from me. I was hoping for something new and innovative...
